About

Dr. Adam Wood joined the Physician Assistant Program in Orlando as an assistant professor in August 2016. He began his career in medicine when he graduated from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2010. He then pursued his interests in clinical toxicology by completing a two-year fellowship with the Florida Poison Information Center – Jacksonville and UF Health Jacksonville. Adam then became a board certified clinical toxicologist by the American Board of Applied Toxicology.

After completing his training, Adam began working at Nemours Children's Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Emergency Services in 2012 and eventually became the Clinical Pharmacy Lead in 2014 before transitioning to teaching full time. Adam continues to work in the pediatric emergency room at Nemours Children's Hospital along with consulting as a clinical toxicologist for the Florida Poison Information Center – Jacksonville.
