About

Dr. Couillard was born, raised and educated in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned her BS in Biology at Stonehill College in 1992, then worked as a Medical Assistant in a multi-physician practice for 8 years before attending PA school. In PA school, she was President of the PA Student Society, earned many leadership awards and organized the classes attendance at the AAPA conference in Chicago. In 2001, she received her Master’s Degree (MPAS) from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and her Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) degree from A.T. Still University was conferred in 2022.

After briefly practicing Plastic Surgery, she relocated to Southwest Florida with her husband. Since then, Dr. Couillard has practiced Family and Internal Medicine for 14 years with a special interest in Geriatrics. Before joining the NSU faculty, she taught Anatomy and Physiology and Pathophysiology at Southern Technical College in Fort Myers. She also enjoyed mentoring NSU students as a preceptor while practicing with the Lee Physician Group.

Dr. Couillard served as a faculty member prior to becoming the program's Clinical Director, and was appointed Program Director in January of 2020.

When not at NSU, she is busy with her son and daughter who are active in sports and music. Her children are her proudest accomplishment.
