Dr. Elliot Montgomery Sklar is a professor in the Department of Health Science. He has worked as a community-based Health Programs Manager, operating school-based health programs for children as well as chronic disease self-management programs for older adults. He has served as consultant to organizations in the US and Canada, and has provided leadership in funded research projects ranging from HIV and substance abuse, to homeless health care education for medical students, and innovative ways to support caregivers. He has presented research internationally and continues to work with publicly and privately supported academic and community-based health programs targeting underserved and minority populations in the US and Canada.  

He received the first Council for Education on Public Health-accredited PhD in Public Health awarded in South Florida from Florida International University. Together with a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communication, his research interests converge upon health behavior in its many forms.
