About
Kelley L. Davis, Ph.D., is a professor of Immunology and Disaster and Emergnecy Management in the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University. She is a spokesperson for recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of victims in mass casualty and mass care events. Dr. Davis has taught courses in virology, immunology, and bacteriology, with emphasis on the medical aspects of infectious disease for students in the medical, public health, and other allied health fields. Dr. Davis presents at national and international conferences on topics related to CBRNE and disaster health and preparedness.
Dr. Davis has done research in infectious disease related to mycoplasmas for her doctoral work at the University of Missouri Medical School. She was recognized by the Mycoplasmology Division of the American Society for Microbiology in 1998 for outstanding research. She has a particular interest in epidemiology and public health and health issues related to homeland security and disaster preparedness.
Prior to her university affiliation, Dr. Davis worked in law enforcement. She has combined her experiences in law enforcement with her microbiology background to become a leader in the field of toxic substance mitigation and response and disaster and emergency preparedness.
