Melissa Bianchi, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts at Nova Southeastern University. Her interdisciplinary scholarship focuses on the intersection of rhetoric and composition, media studies, and ecocriticism, with a specific emphasis on how video games and digital media shape environmental perspectives. Dr. Bianchi’s recent work examines how simulated digital worlds can inform and complicate our understandings of ecological responsibility, sustainability, and the nonhuman. She has authored numerous publications in leading academic journals including Green Letters: Studies in Ecocriticism and the Journal of Games Criticism. As a dedicated educator, Dr. Bianchi teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in composition, media and communication, and game studies where she empowers students to critically apply theoretical frameworks to the media landscapes they encounter every day.
