About
Teaching
Professor Kolber is the course leader and teaches in the Musculoskeletal Systems Curriculum in the professional DPT program. He also guest lectures in diagnostic imaging, clinical anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics and kinesiology, and systems IV.
Scholarly Activities and Research Interests
Professor Kolber’s research interest has a focus on orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, and regenerative medicine. He has well over 350 refereed publications and professional presentations and his research has been cited in the literature giving him a Hirsch index of 40 and an i10 index of 95. In 2016, Professor Kolber co-edited the textbook entitled Orthopaedic Management of the Hip & Pelvis. Professor Kolber has authored numerous textbook chapters for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, American College of Sports Medicine, and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Service
Professor Kolber serves on the University Faculty Advisory Council as the representative for the Pallavi Patel College of Healthcare Sciences. At the college level he serves as the chair of the Examination Construction Development Committee. At the departmental level he serves as chair of the faculty Promotions and Continuing Contract committee.
Areas of Practice
Professor Kolber practices part-time in the area of orthopaedic physical therapy and wellness.
Professional Activity
Professor Kolber serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Physiotherapy Theory and Practice Journal and as the Senior Associate Editor-in-Chief of the National Strength and Conditioning Associations Strength and Conditioning Journal. Additionally, he serves as an advisor to the National Strength and Conditioning Associations conference committee.
Professor Kolber serves on the Committee of Content Experts for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties for the Orthopaedic Certified Specialist Board Examination. He has served numerous past appointments for the Federation of State Board Physical Therapy, National Physical Therapy Examination as an item writer and item writing coordinator as well as having served as the orthopaedic content expert for the National Physical Therapy Examination. In 2016, Professor Kolber served on the practice analysis committee for the development of the National Physical Therapy Examination.
