About

Dr. Rick D. Davenport serves as the Director of the Ph.D. Program in Occupational Therapy. He joined Nova Southeastern University in 2011. Prior to the Ph.D. Program Director appointment in Fort Lauderdale, he held a Director of Research position (2011-2016) at NSU Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program in Tampa, Florida. He has also held research positions at both the Gainesville Rehabilitation Outcomes Research Center (RORC) and Tampa Center of Excellence (COE) VAMC. His combined occupational therapy experience spans over 21 years of practice in adult, productive aging, academia, and research.

His current scholarly research interests focus on occupation, participation, older adults, and gaming. Concurrently, as part of his service to the community, he serves as Soka Gakkai International–USA (SGI-USA) Men’s Division District leader for the Southeast Broward Chapter.
