Dr. Crockam teaches in the BSN program. She teaches fundamentals of nursing, medical/surgical, pediatrics, maternity/obstetrics, pathophysiology, ethics, community, research, simulations, and nursing skills lab.

Professional Information

Her clinical background includes working as a cardiovascular surgery nurse, recovery room, intensive care for adults, pediatrics, and neonates. She arrived in South Florida as a traveling nurse in the recovery room at Baptist Health South Florida and worked as a NICU nurse for 10 years. She has served as an associate nurse manager at Jackson Memorial Hospital in the neonatal intensive care unit. She has worked as a neonatal nurse educator at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Research interests

She is interested in broadening her horizons and researching various areas related to academia and the clinical setting. She is interested in working at the graduate level and desires to be a dissertation chairperson or committee member. Her research interest is multifaceted but primarily focuses on the nurse caring for transgender individuals. She is interested in research that focuses on faculty in academia.
