Walleska Feijo Liberato

I graduated in Dentistry from Federal Fluminense University in 2014. Following, I have completed clinical training in Dental Implants and Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry as well as my Master’s degree in Dental Clinic. Later, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Larissa Maria Cavalcante, I successfully completed my PhD in Operative Dentistry. As part of my PhD Program, I was awarded a federal scholarship (CAPES) to study for one year at the Biomaterials Laboratory at the University of Manchester, in England, under Prof. Dr. Nikolaos Silikas’ supervision.

My professional experience has started in Brazil as Assistant Professor at Veiga de Almeida University. In this position, I was particularly responsible for teaching Dental Materials and Operative Dentistry. My responsibilities included didactic and pre-clinical courses as well as research supervision of two dental students. In addition, I was the director of the Dental Materials course at Veiga de Almeida University for one year. Currently, I have worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Prof. Dr. Bedran-Russo’s Laboratory at University of Illinois Chicago. I am a clinical assistant professor at the College of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.S.A. in the Department of Restorative Sciences and Public Health Dentistry, where I am pleased to be course director of Dental Treatment Planning and also to be mentoring a master student.

I have performed oral and poster presentations in national and international conferences in Brazil, UK, Germany and Greece. In summary, I have clinical and teaching experiences in Dentistry, with emphasis on
Operative Dentistry, Dental Aesthetics and Dental Materials, working mainly in the following subjects: dental implants, dental aesthetics, color selection, prostheses, dental materials, dental composites, dental
adhesive, and dentin.
