Xiaojing Yu, Ph.D., O.D. received her Ph.D. degree studying brain development with genetics approaches and then continued her research interest by studying the mechanism of human central nervous system diseases. Dr. Yu also earned her O.D. degree from the New England College of Optometry.

Before joining Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, Dr. Yu was an assistant professor at Kentucky College of Optometry at University of Pikeville from where she obtained extensive experience in teaching ocular anatomy, ocular physiology, neuro-ophthalmic diseases and ocular pharmacology, as well as precepting third year interns in the primary care service.

Dr. Yu joined the NSU College of Optometry in 2020 and she currently holds the rank of assistant professor. Dr. Yu’s teaching responsibilities include instructor of record for Neuro-Ophthalmic Diseases and lab instructor for Optometric Theory.
