Yair Solan is Associate Professor of Literature and Film, and Coordinator of English, Humanities, and Film Studies in the Department of Humanities and Politics at Nova Southeastern University. His areas of specialization include 19th-20th century American literature and culture, film studies, and the history of media and technology. His work has appeared in venues such as Modernism/modernity, Journal of the Short Story in English, and Studies in American Naturalism and is forthcoming in PMLA, the journal of the Modern Language Association. He has also written for the Library of Congress's National Film Registry. At NSU, Dr. Solan has taught courses in American literature, major authors, the graphic memoir, and world literature, as well as courses in the department's minor in Film Studies. He coordinates NSU's annual film series The Reel and serves as the faculty advisor of the student-run film club Fin Films.
