Dr. Yarelis Alvarado graduated with honors from Nova Southeastern University where she attained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2009. She then went on to complete a post graduate year one Pharmacy Practice Residency at the VA Caribbean Health Care System. After culminating this program she began working as a clinical pharmacist at HIMA San Pablo Hospital in the Pediatric Oncology Unit before switching to the Adult Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Alvarado went on to achieve her pharmacotherapy board certification in 2011. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University with a practice site in adult critical care. Dr. Alvarado is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and, as part of a multidisciplinary team, works to improve the care of critically ill patients.
