About

Dr. Yvette Fuentes received a B.A. in History from Barry University, an M.A. in Latin American and Spanish History from the University of Miami, and a Ph.D. in Spanish, also from the University of Miami. Her research focuses on the contemporary literature of Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean and her scholarship appears in such journals as Camino Real: A Multidisciplinary Journal on U.S. Latino Studies, Caribe: Revista de Cultura y Literatura, Letras Femeninas, and Hispanic Research Journal. She is a regular contributor to Choice: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries and serves as a peer reviewer for various academic journals, including Hispania.  Dr. Fuentes is Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities and Politics in the Halmos College of Arts and Sciences at Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where she teaches a wide range of courses in Spanish language and literature as well as serves as the Coordinator for Modern Languages and International Studies. She is the Faculty Advisor to the Alpha Alpha Zeta Chapter of Alpha Mu Gamma: National Collegiate Foreign Language Honor Society.
