N2 - This manuscript discusses perceptions and views of age discrimination in employment practices of the modern workplace. The data regarding perceptions of age and older workers comes from 216 respondents in the United States and 92 from the Bahamas. The results demonstrate that education, gender, and diversity training are statistically significant factors in the awareness of discriminatory laws toward older workers. The article discusses Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) as well as other age discrimination laws, in particular the Older Workers Protection Act in the United States. The article, moreover, presents recommendations, strategies, tactics, and suggestions for employers and managers to use in order to avoid age discrimination in the workplace.
