Abstract
Professor Shaw addressed the challenges she faced in her twenties when she did not honor her own interests, rather did what she believed was expected. She shared how fear and doubt eventually led her to reach for her own dreams and accomplish her goals. Using her own experiences with juggling graduate school and family responsibilities, Shaw encouraged the new inductees to attain their goals.
