Abstract
This is a report of the diagnostic and treatment profile of the segment of the population of children with learning problems in school referred to a university hospital learning disabilities service. 77% of the children received DSM III Axis I diagnoses of clinical psychiatric syndromes. Child centered psychotherapy was recommended in 43%, family centered psychotherapy in 70% and psychoactive medication in 10% of the cases.
