Abstract
Dabigatran etexilate is the prodrug of dabigatran, a direct thrombin inhibitor that is used to reduce the risk for stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) and to prevent and treat venous thromboembolism (VTE).
