Abstract

During Summer Semester 2023, students in twenty MS, Specialist and EdD courses were given the option of using ChatGPT to prepare draft versions of assignments after they obtained permission from their instructor. Students had to indicate they used ChatGPT. A number of students took this option. After Summer Semester was over and grades were posted, students and faculty were asked to answer several questions about their use of ChatGPT. The process followed during the Summer, the situations encountered, and observations about use of ChatGPT will be presented and discussed in this session.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will be able to:

Describe a process used to allow students to use ChatGPT.Review outcomes of using ChatGPT in a graduate-level course.Discuss faculty and student reactions about using ChatGPT.
