Abstract
The article discusses the applications of design-based research for distance education. Design-based research is defined as a systematic but flexible methodology aimed to improve educational practices through iterative analysis, design, development, and implementation. The reason why design-based research is interactive is discussed. The approaches used in design-based research are enumerated, including surveys, expert reviews, evaluations, case studies, interviews, inquiry methods, and comparative analysis.
