Abstract
Across helping professions, the inclusion of antiracist pedagogy and multicultural training is integral to culturally responsive practice. Despite this, graduate trainees frequently report a lack of self-efficacy in essential multicultural competencies, leaving them ill-equipped to effectively treat and address the unique needs of marginalized client populations. To address these gaps, more effective pedagogical approaches are needed. In this chapter, we outline recommendations to enhance current multicultural training and antiracist pedagogical practices, thereby better-equipping trainees with essential multicultural and social justice competencies needed to be competent and ethical clinicians.
