ExEL from Day One: Intentional Course Design in Experiential Learning

Abstract

Infusing experiential learning in classroom experiences becomes a priority when addressing the needs of 21st-Century learners. Harvesting the advantages of online and blended learning, paired with intentional instructional design involves effective use of digital learning to support face-toface and web-enhanced instruction. The process entails, at minimum, planning based on needs assessment, followed by course design and development, utilizing proven instructional design practices and continuous monitoring and evaluation of instructor performance, student learning, and course content.
