Abstract
To the Editor: The article by Hodes and Kloos on health and medical care in Ethiopia (Oct. 6 issue)1 is to be commended for its comprehensiveness. However, as one working in this field in Ethiopia, I believe that the authors could have mentioned some of the more positive developments in health care here. This is not to deny the validity of the statistics the authors present, but rather to add to their data. The statement about vitamin A deficiency is incorrect.
