Hidden Below the Waves: Establishing Baselines for Fiji's Coral Reefs

Research output: Non-textual formDigital or Visual Products

Abstract

In May 2017, a team of GUE divers from New Zealand and GUE's Project Baseline initiative headed to the south Pacific to document the health of Fiji's reefs with scientists from The University of the South Pacific and Nova Southeastern University. Establishing baselines on these reefs will help add to the ocean health index, our understanding of how reefs are changing due to climate change, and the people of Fiji's understanding of what is happening beneath the surface. The mission was made possible by donations from the owners of the m/y Ad-Vantage and the hard work done in support of the mission by the crew.
