Human papillomavirus: Factors influencing vaccination decisions among Hispanic parents with adolescent daughters

Abstract

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is known to cause 70% of cervical cancer. Latina women in the United States are disproportionally impacted by cervical cancer. The US Food and Drug Administration recently licensed two vaccines to protect against HPV. The objective of this chapter is to review the existing data on HPV vaccination and factors contributing to Hispanic parents' decision to vaccinate their daughters.
