Abstract
This research aims to engage with other health professionals, demonstrate effective collaboration and mutual accountability with relevant stakeholders, and use culturally, developmentally, and linguistically responsive communication strategies to improve clinical judgment, health promotion, and positive health outcomes in a BSN population health course. Senior nursing students in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program are enrolled in a course entitled Population Health: Promotion, Prevention, and Disease Management, emphasizing health prevention and disease management as it applies to diverse populations. It was discovered that exposing the BSN students to these community clinical experiences not only enhanced their learning but also improved their clinical judgment preparing them for their role as professional nurses.
