Luggage with Detachable and Stackable Compartments, Invertible Separator, and Air Packs to Occupy Empty Space and Secure Contents

Research output: Patent

Abstract

A suitcase that separates into two stackable compartments. To allow the top compartment to nest into the bottom, its wheels are detachable and its support pegs retract into a recess. Each compartment can be packed and unpacked independently, by different people in different locations. One or both compartments contain inflatable air packs, inflatable from outside the luggage with a standard pump, that secure contents against movement during travel and handling. Each compartment has a separator that fully encloses its contents when zipped and that extends both inward and outward to accommodate larger objects or additional contents at the expense of the other compartment's space; both separators can be extended inward to create a single large cavity.
