Abstract

Reparation for people injured by the negligence of another, including healthcare providers, primarily includes the award of money damages. Although money damages in many cases cannot fully compensate a person who is the victim or medical negligence, it is the remedy provided for by the American legal system. This chapter explains the various kinds of money damages and the proof required for an injured person to be eligible to receive money damages.
