Abstract
This chapter covers several strategies and considerations for finding industry opportunities for music transcription. The first section illuminates the role of music transcription with the three common career profiles of arrangers, orchestrators, and music copyists. The second section then covers several aspects of connecting with the music industry through collaborative opportunities, industry networking, and offering music transcription services online. Finally, the third section covers strategies for industry visibility and best practices to sustain a music career. The section activities help learners take actionable steps to grow transcription opportunities in a field of interest. In summary, this chapter illuminates common practices to secure and maintain industry opportunities.
