Perceivers' implicit theories, violation type, and moral awareness

Abstract

Three studies provide consistent evidence that abilities to recognize moral content in situations (moral awareness) are interactively dependent upon observers' implicit theories (entity versus incremental) and whether the observed situation involves a duty versus a rights violation.
