Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is to analyze issues that affect the way pharmacists throughout the world practice their profession. Despite social, economic, and political disparities among their countries of origin, practitioners and researchers experience common concerns that often are viewed and handled differently depending on cultural setting, availability of resources, and technological infrastructure. After an initial review of pharmacists globally, issues pertaining to the demand for pharmacists’ services are examined.
