Abstract
Effective researchers are efficient, focused, curious, and demonstrate leadership qualities that contribute to a productive and enthusiastic work atmosphere. That said, there are a multitude of variations in the personalities of researchers. The positive interplay of different personalities within a research team should enhance the discovery experience. Understanding the personalities of the individuals within a research team can identify how interpersonal relationships within the laboratory or collaborative team may unfold. Similarly, with an understanding of one’s own strengths and weaknesses, one can develop the qualities needed to become a great scientist.
