Abstract
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s and the American Academy of Pediatrics revised the developmental surveillance milestone checklists. These revisions were based on data, developmental resources, and clinical expertise and were made in hopes that children at risk for delays could be identified sooner and thus receive intervention sooner. We will discuss these changes and the role of occupational therapy practitioners in early identification and early intervention.
