Abstract

[Book Description] American families and religions are facing a challenge -- the challenge of adapting to a rapidly changing society with a self-oriented culture. The contributors examine a spectrum of responses to changing social norms, and assess the role that religion plays in modern family life. They seek to interpret the problems faced by one of our most basic social institutions through a variety of perspectives.
