Research output: Non-textual form › Performance

Abstract

The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe is a critically acclaimed play about a suburban high school girls' indoor soccer team, following them through pre-game warm-ups where their overlapping, authentic dialogue covers everything from menstruation and boys to genocide and identity. The play, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, uses the team's athletic setting to explore the complexities of adolescence, female camaraderie, and coming-of-age through a fresh, energetic, and often humorous lens.
