Abstract

This talk highlighted the effects of chronic psychological stress on the body. The body's reaction to stress has protective and adaptive effects in the short run. But chronic stress, principally though dysregulated cortisol levels, can lead to poor health consequences such as blunted immune functioning and decreased memory performance.
