Success is in Motion: High-Performing Teams Exhibit Dynamic Conflict Management Strategy Use and High Arousal

    Abstract

    Is cooperation key to successful teams? Using a dynamic systems approach with longitudinal data, we identify that the best performing teams flexibly switch between conflict management strategies and are energized by emotional arousal. These patterns allow teams to be cohesive yet adaptive, leading to reduced team identity and stronger performance.
