Abstract
The writers provide advice to school principals on minimizing the risk of student suicide. In addition to creating a culture of connectedness in which students trust and seek the help of school staff members, school principals should create school suicide prevention programs that include awareness education and screening, crisis and mental health team coordination, collaboration with community services, reliance on evidence-based strategies, and clear intervention and “postvention” protocols.
