Abstract
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a Tony Award-winning musical with a book by Rachel Sheinkin and music/lyrics by William Finn, about a group of quirky middle schoolers competing in a spelling bee, sharing their hilarious and poignant personal stories along the way. The show is known for its witty and heartfelt script, memorable songs, and surprising audience participation, exploring themes of adolescence, family, and self-acceptance. It premiered on Broadway in 2005 and has since had numerous productions, including recent Off-Broadway revivals.
