    Abstract

This lecture explored the historical issues of Tibet’s relationship with China, and the domestic and international significance of China’s treatment of Tibetans and other national minorities in the areas adjacent to the present-day geographic region called Tibet. How does the Tibetan Government in Exile affect Chinese policy? Why does China adamantly deny Tibetan autonomy or independence? What is the true status of Tibet in international affairs?
