Abstract
Hybrid learning is more than the addition of web materials into the traditional classroom; it involves thoughtful integration of face-to-face and online learning, redesigning class structure, and restructuring class time in a manner that fosters a community of inquiry to enhance student learning outcomes. The goal of hybrid instruction is to facilitate active learning while reducing the time students spend in a traditional classroom. Blended instruction entails using a myriad of online and face-to-face learning activities that are aligned with class objectives. This session provides educators with a framework to convert traditional lecture-based and lab-based course content into a hybrid format, providing concrete examples of instructional strategies and course outcomes.
