This presentation explored Hollywood’s portrayal of the supernatural Caribbean and asks how the truth about the region’s history collides or merges with Hollywood’s power and its desire to portray the Caribbean in certain ways. How do Western notions of Caribbean identity come to life (or to death) in these films?
