    Abstract

    The objective of this literature review is to investigate the efficacy of past and current coral reef management programs and Marine Protected Areas (MPA’s). Another objective is to examine and recommend future actions. Important lessons can be learned by reviewing management successes and failures and these lessons can be very useful for future recommendations. I will focus on areas in the Caribbean and thePhilippines.
