A Review of the Distribution, Migration, and Reproduction of Selected Species in Five Families of Coastal and Pelagic Sharks in the Western North Atlantic Ocean (Alopiidae, Ginglymostomatidae, Lamnidae, Carcharhinidae, Sphyrnidae)

Abstract

In this document, the distribution, migration, and reproduction of 25 shark species from five Families of Elasmobranchs (Family Alopiidae, Family Ginglymostomatidae, Family Lamnidae, Family Carcharhinidae, & Family Sphymidae) [Table 2] in the western North Atlantic are described, and the possible associations between these three aspects of shark behavior are investigated.
