Abstract

Purpose of the Study: Some PT and PTA schools do not require their students to become members of the professional association. Joining the professional association is one step in becoming a professional. There are several other important characteristics that an individual must consider while developing as a professional. These characteristics will be discussed later in the review section. Since this paper is concerned with one characteristic of developing as a professional, the other characteristics will be discussed briefly. The purpose of this study is to determine the faculties' perceptions of the FPTA and do they encourage student membership. This was done by surveying faculty from Florida PT and PTA programs to determine what attitudes they exhibit to influence student membership in FPTA.
