About

Aileen Miyuki Farrar, Ph.D., is the Director for the Farquhar Honors Program and an Associate Professor of Literature in the Department of Humanities and Politics in the Halmos College of Arts and Sciences (HCAS). She teaches British literature and Medical Humanities for HCAS and the Farquhar Honors Program.
 
She regularly supports her students as a mentor for their research which they have presented at NSU's Undergraduate Student Symposium and the Popular Culture Association National Conference. She also serves as the faculty advisor for NSU’s book club, Wyrd; the Alpha Nu Iota Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society; and NSU's Chapter of It's On Us.
 
Dr. Farrar's scholarship focuses on the interdisciplinary study of literature and science culture, with emphasis on Victorian studies and feminist epistemologies, and she has published in journals including Victorians: A Journal of Culture and Literature, Victorian Review, and Nineteenth-Century Gender Studies.
